Spring into Health Fair

On Saturday, May 20, Barnabas Center partnered with Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare and 26 other nonprofit organizations across Nassau County. The Spring into Health Fair event provided attendees with countless healthcare resources, food and activities.

At the Spring into Health Fair, attendees could receive resources on accessing medical care, dental care, mental health care, substance abuse disorder services, nutritional information, and more. Blood pressure screenings and COVID-19 booster shots were also free to attendees.

In addition, attendees could meet with Barnabas Center health service providers, a Health Insurance Navigator and receive an exclusive Starting Point mobile health clinic tour.

Other nonprofit Nassau County organizations at the event included One More Child, Episcopal Children Services, Baptist Medical Center Nassau, Micah’s Place, Tobacco Free Nassau, Coalition for the Homeless of Nassau County and more.

Along with the many resources provided, lunch and activities were part of the day too. Delicious hot dogs and hamburgers were served, many games were played, and there were even a few giveaways for attendees to take part in.

“We are so thrilled that we could participate in the Spring into Health Fair with Starting Point and the other nonprofit organizations in attendance. Our mission is to provide resources to those unsure where to receive them, which was achievable through this event,” said Jaime Reynolds, CEO of Barnabas Center.
