Where Fun & Giving Meet: Join Barnabas Center at the Pétanque Charity Challenge
There’s nothing quite like a day where laughter, friendly competition, and community generosity come together for a great cause.
Barnabas Center is proud to be one of the featured charities in the Second Annual Amelia Island Pétanque Club Charity Challenge, an event that perfectly blends fun and philanthropy while supporting vital nonprofit work across Nassau County.
A Unique Community Competition
Set for February 22, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Central Park Pétanque Courts, this Pro-Am style tournament pairs Amelia Island Pétanque Club members with teams representing their favorite local charities.
Spectators can expect an afternoon filled with spirited play, great camaraderie, and plenty of reasons to cheer.
And if that’s not enough entertainment, the crowd-favorite “BAR Wars: The Sequel” returns—where local watering holes face off for the coveted Shrimp Trophy in a lighthearted boule-throwing showdown.
Supporting Barnabas Center’s Mission
Events like the Charity Challenge do more than bring people together—they directly support organizations like Barnabas Center that are working every day to provide food, health care, and financial empowerment services to neighbors in need.
Community members attending the event are encouraged to bring donations to support participating charities, helping extend the impact far beyond the courts.
A Day of Fun, Fellowship & Impact
The Pétanque Charity Challenge isn’t just about competition—it’s about community spirit.
As highlighted in the event materials, attendees can:
-
Cheer on teams representing local charities
-
Support local bars competing for Shrimp Trophies
-
Enjoy a lively, laughter-filled atmosphere
-
Connect with neighbors while giving back
It’s a perfect outing for families, friends, and supporters who want to make a difference while enjoying a unique island tradition.
