HELP EXPAND HOPE FOR OUR NASSAU NEIGHBORS

Introducing the Tom and Julie Wood Family Foundation Challenge

We launched the quiet phase of the Go West with Us capital campaign in July 2025 to support the new Barnabas Center Stephen R. Braddock Building in West Nassau. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have already achieved our initial goal of $3 million! In meeting this objective, the Tom and Julie Wood Family Foundation saw the incredible dedication of our community and realized that more could – and should – be done to help the Stephen R. Braddock Building provide more comprehensive support to neighbors in need. That’s why they’ve pledged to match $1 million dollars if we can raise $1 million more. These additional funds will enable us to add a dental suite to complement our medical offerings, a garden to supplement the food pantry and more!

Bringing Wellness, Empowerment, Sustainability and Transformation to West Nassau

The Barnabas Center Stephen R. Braddock Building will deliver nutrition services, health care and empowerment programs to Callahan and the surrounding region. Many residents in these areas face the daily reality of food deserts with limited or no access to transportation. So, we’re bringing our services directly to them, bridging the distance between hope and tangible help.

The Tom and Julie Wood Family Foundation Dental Clinic will be fully funded through the family’s philanthropic commitment. However, we need your support to set it in motion. While a remodel of the existing property was the initial plan, this new development requires a demolition and new build to create a space for more comprehensive care in the Stephen R. Braddock Building. With $1 million of unrestricted donations from the community, we can match the Wood Family Foundation’s pledge and develop an all-inclusive facility that will serve West Nassau now and for generations to come.

PLEASE LEND YOUR SUPPORT

Your gift, big or small, brings us one step closer to making the Barnabas Center Stephen R. Braddock Building a reality for thousands of West Nassau neighbors in need. Every donation is doubled, meaning your impact goes twice as far. For those interested in a more significant investment, naming rights are still available at select gift levels, offering a meaningful and lasting tribute within the new facility. Help us close the gap between hope and help.

Who You're Helping

When Janice’s mother received a dementia diagnosis, it turned her world upside down. She relocated to Callahan to step into the role of caregiver, but the demands quickly proved to be more than she thought. The cost of medical equipment alone placed a strain on Janice’s finances. She now found herself in unfamiliar territory – needing support of her own. That’s when she discovered Barnabas Center. Janice not only received financial assistance but mental health resources that helped her prioritize her own wellbeing. Every step of her caregiving journey, Barnabas Center was there – with relief and a reminder that she didn’t have to face it alone.

TOGETHER WE CAN!

Watch our community come together in real time. Every gift brings us closer to unlocking the full $1 million match. When we reach our goal, that your generosity is doubled, delivering $2 million toward wellness, empowerment, sustainability and transformation for West Nassau. Give today and see your impact grow.
