Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Collects Over 1,500 Pounds of Food for Barnabas

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church participated in a national movement of churches across America on Sunday, September 18 with “Back To Church Sunday”.  The theme was “Hope Happens Here”.  Everyone was invited to attend the coffee hour, Worship Service, and brunch with activities.  100 people attended the Worship Service.

A special emphasis of helping families in need enabled Prince of Peace to donate over 1200 items of food to the Barnabas Food Pantry.  Jamie Reynolds, President and CEO of Barnabas Nassau, received the donation and presented an overview of Barnabas services providing help and hope to individuals and their families throughout Nassau County.

Back To Church Sunday is not a one-time event at Prince of Peace. All are welcome to attend and worship every Sunday morning at 10:00 at our Fernandina Beach location (2600 Atlantic Avenue).  More information is available at poplcweb.com.

We are blessed by the support of businesses, churches, schools, civic groups, neighborhoods, and municipalities who collect nutritious food for our pantry; we are so grateful to the community for their support of our neighbors in need. If you are interested in planning a collection, please contact Renee Stoffel, Community Outreach Manager, RStoffel@BarnabasNassau.org, or call her at 904-206-2774.
