For more than 30 years, Barnabas has been Nassau County’s only comprehensive service center to help those in need so they can become healthy, productive citizens. And that helps our entire community! We thought you might be interested in a reflection from a local couple about how and why they provided for Barnabas in their will.
John and Julia Taylor Share Their Estate Planning Story
“Our Joy Comes From Knowing We Have Set Aside a Part of Ourselves to Help Those in Need.”
“We have a warm place in our hearts for supporting social service organizations. We have been involved in Jacksonville-based social service agencies in our careers and personal lives. So, when we moved to Amelia Island years ago, we quickly learned that Barnabas Center was the perfect place to contribute our time and experience.
When we walk along the hallways of the Barnabas offices, we see first-hand the tremendous need for services in our community. The medical and dental clinic staff is helping uninsured individuals who have nowhere else to go for health care. The food pantry is bustling with people who are in need of fresh produce and other nutritious staples to feed their families. A mother holding her young child is meeting confidentially with a counselor to apply for crisis assistance so she can pay her utility bill.
Now, please imagine if all of these Nassau County neighbors in need did not have Barnabas to turn to for services.
Frankly, we cannot imagine our county without Barnabas, which is why we decided to give a gift to Barnabas in our will.
Participating in fundraising events and serving on the board of directors gives us an up-close view of how Barnabas meets and exceeds its mission to “…provide help and hope to individuals and families in need throughout Nassau County to improve their stability, health and well-being.”
We believe that Barnabas is solidly managed by exceptional leadership and an exemplary board that make bold decisions based on strategic plans. Accordingly, we are confident that our gift will be prudently managed.
We invite you to join us in our long-term commitment to Barnabas’ future by including a gift in your will. We think you will feel joy and satisfaction, as we do, knowing our neighbors in need have a place to go when they need help now…and in the future.”
Warm Regards,
John and Julia Taylor
