Ellen Schmidt is a native of Detroit Michigan. She completed her nursing degree at Oakland University, where she went on to work in many fields of nursing.

Ellen has experience working in multiple areas, which include participating in the opening of Osprey Village as the first assisted living home on Amelia Island, coordinating with doctors to establish their opening practices and working as a discharge planner for Baptist Hospital.

Ellen started working for Barnabas as a volunteer 15 years ago. Her experience through Barnabas has grown, and she now works as part of the Barnabas Mobile Health Team! Barnabas’ Mobile Health team is travelling to all parts of the community to offer free medical care to uninsured residents of Nassau County. Ellen works alongside Barnabas’ community health worker, Quashana Levy in this important effort.
