Empty Bowls at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island
AN EMPTY BOWL IS A SYMBOL OF HUNGER. In support of our neighbors coping with food insecurity, Barnabas Center is hosting our 11th annual Empty Bowls event to raise awareness and funds to combat hunger and crisis in Nassau County. A simple meal of soup, bread and dessert will be served by volunteers. In addition, each guest will be able to select a beautiful, hand-painted bowl to take home. Potters and volunteers throughout the area have painted ceramic bowls so that each attendee can have a permanent reminder of the many bowls we still need to fill to provide nourishment to our neighbors who struggle with hunger.
We have set Monday, December 2, 2024, as the 11th annual Empty Bowls luncheon, from 12 to 1 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Tickets will be available starting September 1st and are $40 each.
Parking will be extremely limited, and carpooling is strongly encouraged. Parking will be available starting at 10:45 a.m. at Peters Point Beach Front Park, with a complimentary event shuttle service provided by Omni Resorts Amelia Island. Shuttle service will be available 10:45 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Empty Bowls Entertainment – Hupp & Ray
Guests will enjoy the soothing sounds of musical entertainers Hupp & Ray at the 11th annual Empty Bowls fundraising luncheon. “Hupp” Huppmann and Ray Hetchka have long been one of the most in-demand entertainers on Amelia Island and Barnabas Center is proud to welcome them back to the event.
Their tight harmonies punctuate an eclectic blend of classic and alternative rock, blues, folk, pop, and R&B. Their music will promote joy and goodwill as Barnabas Center raises critical funds to help others in our community. Please make sure to stop by and tell them thank you for entertaining during the sold-out event!
Empty Bowls – Individual Tickets
Tickets will be available starting September 1 and are $40 each!
Did you Host or attend an Open an Empty Bowls Paint Party?
On behalf of Barnabas Center and your neighbors coping with food insecurity, thank you for participating in our Empty Bowls painting events this year. Our studio hosted 67 parties and over 766 painters dedicated their time and talents. THANK YOU!
Many of our painters are rightly proud of the bowls they painted and wonder whether their bowls or those of their fellow painters might be selected for the Empty Bowls Online Marketplace.
Now that the Marketplace has launched, you can browse the bowls and see which were selected. Even if your bowl is not on the auction sites, I hope you find one or more that will make a unique, meaningful gift this holiday season.
Click here to visit the Marketplace.
When you visit the Marketplace, I’m sure you will be as impressed as we were with the creativity of our artists this year. Thanks to you and your fellow bowl painters, we have more than 1000 beautiful bowls to give to attendees at the 11th annual Empty Bowls Luncheon on December 2nd.
We look forward to seeing over 1000 bowls painted by you on display for attendees of Empty Bowls to select from.
