Newcomers Club Donates to Barnabas

Barnabas Center is grateful to have recently received a donation from the Newcomers Club of Amelia Island, thanks to the fundraising efforts of club members including Rose Ann Schwartz and Debbie Allison.

“Although Newcomers Club of Amelia Island is primarily a social organization for ladies residing in Nassau County, our members are committed to giving back to our community,” said Cathy Gladden, the club’s treasurer. “Barnabas was chosen as our charity for the month of November. We are pleased to present you with a check for $2,420 to support the good work you do for our community.”

The Newcomers Club of Amelia Island was founded in 1984 by a small group of ladies who wanted to help new arrivals make friends and become acquainted with the community. They began with the purpose of extending a friendly hand to all women, developing new friendships, and offering social events, activities, and service opportunities in the community. The Club is open to any woman who resides in Nassau County. Membership has grown from 30 members that first year to 700 today.

Barnabas Mission: Providing help and hope to individuals and families in need throughout Nassau County to improve their stability, health and well-being. Vision: Every individual has an opportunity to lead a healthy and productive life, thereby strengthening our entire community.
