On October 18th, the Northeast Florida Fair sponsored Barnabas Center by offering free admission in exchange for 4 canned food items to donate to Barnabas. In addition, Winn Dixie in Callahan and Hilliard collected food items from customers in exchange for free fair admission. The food drives collected 6,260 pounds of food for Barnabas.

We are incredibly grateful to those who spearheaded this effort. Brian Simmons, Marketing/Gate Manager for the Northeast Florida Fair, led the initiative for the food drive. In addition, Barnabas thanks River’s Edge Church for providing volunteers to bring the food donations to Barnabas. Also, students from the Future Business Leaders of America District 4, sorted the food donations at the Barnabas food pantry. Barnabas also thanks the Nassau County Schools Entrepreneurship and Marketing Class, and the Nassau Technical Career Center Future Business Leaders of America for their participation.
