Fernandina Beach, FL Barnabas Center, Inc. is excited to announce that it will change its
eligibility requirements for dental care starting April 1, 2024. The Barnabas Center Dental Clinic
has served Nassau County residents for over a decade. It is now expanding its intake process
to include residents who may not have been eligible.
Florida passed important legislation called the “Live Healthy” (SB 7016) initiative. The bill
revises preexisting health care programs, creates new programs, revises licensure, and
regulatory requirements for health care practitioners and facilities creates new provisions within
programs relating to health care practitioner education, amends the state Medicaid program,
and appropriates both general revenue and trust fund dollars to grow Florida’s healthcare
workforce and increase access to health care services.
The bill amends the “Access to Health Care Act” to increase the maximum income that a
patient can be considered low-income, from 200 percent to 300 percent of the federal poverty
level.
