Barnabas Center recently received a grant of $5,000 from Publix Super Markets Charities to support the agency’s food programs. As a result, the grant represents a platinum sponsorship for Barnabas 8th annual Empty Bowls fundraising EXTRAVAGANZA coming up on November 12th.
The donation enables Barnabas to provide much-needed food for the food pantry and mobile food distributions throughout Nassau County to help people in need, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the last year, Barnabas provided food to 14,000 men, women and children who are food insecure or experiencing hunger. Thanks to its supporters, including Publix Super Markets Charities, Barnabas is helping to address hunger in Nassau County.

To support our neighbors coping with food insecurity, Barnabas is hosting our 8th annual Empty Bowls event to raise awareness and funds to combat hunger and crisis in Nassau County. In reality, more than 7,000 of our neighbors do not know when they’ll get their next meal. In addition, over 2,000 of them are children. Barnabas brought Empty Bowls to Nassau County to help spread awareness in our community. Empty Bowls continues the battle against hunger, food insecurity and poverty.
