April – June 2020
Food Assistance: 78,833 meals of nutritious food were provided to 4,828 households with 15,749 family members through 93 drive through and mobile food distributions throughout the county.
Crisis Assistance: 130 households avoided homelessness with rent, mortgage or utility payments totaling $170,682.
Medical and Dental Services: 867 uninsured men and women were provided critical medical care, dental care and mental health services.
This represents a 300% increase in number of households we normally serve.
Barnabas is incredibly grateful to the many supporters and partners who have stepped up to help us meet the urgent needs of thousands of our neighbors in crisis during the pandemic. Through the generosity of loyal friends and donors who established a $145,000 “Emergency Match Challenge Fund”, every dollar donated to our Covid crisis relief fund was matched. More than 700 individuals, churches, businesses and funders contributed to this relief fund, 376 of which were new donors.
The numbers tell only part of the story – they do not reflect the desperation, anxiety and fear that so many people feel, but also the relief and gratitude for the help and hope we can provide to them during these uncertain and stressful times. Thanks to the community support, Barnabas will continue to work on the front lines to help those in our community who are disproportionately affected by this crisis for as long as we can.
