Jennifer Rodrigues, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, is the newest member of the Barnabas Health team. As a US Air Force Veteran with nine years as a Public Health Officer she is excited to join the medical team at Barnabas. Jennie is passionate about health and healthy lifestyles and feels preventive care plays an important role in wellness. Jennie exclaimed “Preventive care reduces the risk of disease and serious health conditions, but for a variety of reasons, many people don’t get the preventive care they need.” Barriers include cost, lack of a primary care provider, living too far from providers, and a lack of awareness about recommended preventive services.
Jennie lives in Nassau County on a 10-acre horse farm with her family. After working many years at Baptist Health Nassau, she was drawn to Barnabas knowing she would be able to make a direct impact in her community. She spent her first few months working with the health team at the Barnabas Weaver Center however she is ready to connect with her neighbors as she moves to Callahan. She will maintain a few days at the Weaver Center while working two days a week from the Barnabas Callahan Office. Barnabas Health Services are available for those who are uninsured or underinsured. Partnerships with many local offices as well as support from Baptist Health and Baptist Health Nassau allows Barnabas the ability to provide services to those in our community who would otherwise go unserved.
