Barnabas Center is excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at helping community members grow fresh, healthy food right from their own homes. Thanks to generous support from the Florida Blue Foundation, we are distributing Grow Bags to individuals in need. This project will provide families with the tools and knowledge to cultivate their own nutritious ingredients.
The initiative features four different grow bags, each containing everything needed to create a homegrown salad. The bags include a variety of seeds and starter plants such as basil, tomatoes, parsley, peppers, onions, radishes, mixed lettuce, arugula, romaine, carrots and spinach. Participants will also receive simple, step-by-step instructions to ensure a successful growing experience – making it easy for anyone, regardless of gardening experience, to enjoy fresh produce at home.
These Grow Bags will be distributed at select community locations and on designated dates while supplies last. This hands-on approach to nutrition education empowers individuals to take control of their food choices and promotes sustainable, healthy living.
