FERNANDINA BEACH, FL (October 2025) In response to ongoing food insecurity in Nassau County, Barnabas Center is still offering its evening pantry program, mobile food distribution events, and emergency food bag locations across the county.
The evening food distributions at Barnabas Center are designed to better serve working families and individuals who cannot visit during traditional pantry hours. Evening pantry hours will take place on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at:

During these special evening hours, Barnabas Center will provide free fresh produce, proteins (as available), and pantry staples for Nassau County residents in need. No appointment is necessary. Drive-through and walk-up service options are available.
“Expanding access through flexible hours and multiple locations helps us better reach neighbors who might otherwise go without,” said Jamie Reynolds, President and CEO of Barnabas Center. “We’ve seen firsthand the need for evening hours. Since launching the pilot program earlier this year, Barnabas Center has experienced a 35% increase in food assistance requests. These expanded hours allow us to meet families where they are—after work, after school, and when help is most needed.”
In addition to evening hours, Barnabas Center continues to provide mobile food distributions across Nassau County and emergency food bag locations in Callahan and Hilliard, offering greater convenience for families who may not be able to visit during regular hours.
Regular pantry hours remain Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All food distributions are first-come, first-served and available up to twice monthly per household.
