Barnabas Nassau County, FL

Programs & Partners

Barnabas is many different programs and relationships. We are the center of an integrated service network that assists people in crisis with a helping hand so they can become healthy, productive citizens. Through our partnerships, we reach even more people, minimizing duplicate services and maximizing resources.

Our Programs

crisis_hub-circlesCrisis Assistance

Many of our neighbors face unexpected illness, unemployment, fire, or a change in living status, with nowhere to turn. Crisis Assistance was the very first program we offered and is still the “front door” of our organization.

Our approach is based on comprehensive case management, which often includes several sessions and in-depth follow-up. Our volunteers and professional staff offer a compassionate helping hand so individuals and families can once again become healthy productive citizens.

The face of hunger in Nassau County includes working families, children, and the elderly – our neighbors. It is estimated that 1 in 6 adults and 1 in 4 children in our community is hungry or is facing food-insecurity, which is simply not knowing when or how they will get their next meal. To combat hunger, our staff and volunteers collect donated fresh, frozen, packaged and canned food and distribute it throughout the county via our Food and Mobile Food pantries.

health_hub-circlesHealth Services

We have greatly expanded our health services in conjunction with the opening of the Weaver Center, its new main office, at 1303 Jasmine Street in Fernandina Beach. We strive to be a medical home for adults in need in Nassau County. Services are provided with affordable fees based on low-to-moderate. Financial hardship is no longer a reason to be without quality healthcare.
